DRYDEN — The Dryden boys’ basketball team jumped out to an early lead and never looked back during a 51-36 win over Lake Fenton at home Thursday.
Dryden led 7-4 after the first quarter and then outscored Lake Fenton 13-10 in the second for a 20-14 lead at the half. After the break, the Cardinals went on runs of 15-6 and 16-14 in the third and fourth quarters, respectively, to close out the game.
Jack Kaplan led the way for the Cardinals, scoring 24 points with five shots coming from downtown. He also added four rebounds and an assist. Brady Czape added 10 points with four rebounds and three steals. Nathan Schenkel scored six points with six rebounds and four assists, Ronny Hudson had four points, Jacob Livingston scored three and Coulter Waite and Rylan Rudd chipped in with two points apiece.
“It was a nice win after a long break,” noted Dryden coach John DelCampo. “We were a bit rusty at times but played well defensively.”
Dryden, 4-2, visits Genesee tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.
