OREGON TWP. — A 40-year-old Columbiaville man was killed Sunday night in a motorcycle crash on Stanley Road in Oregon Township. Michael Isom was pronounced deceased at the scene.

At 10:54 p.m. Sunday, Lapeer County Sheriff’s Dept. deputies were dispatched to an injury traffic crash on Stanley Road, west of German Road.

Det./Sgt. Jason Parks said Isom was westbound on Stanley Road when he drove off the right shoulder of the road (north side) and entered a grassy ditch. After traveling within the ditch for approximately 200 feet, he attempted to maneuver the motorcycle toward the roadway. The motorcycle went down on its left side and subsequently overturned multiple times (side to side) before coming to rest. Isom, the only occupant on the motorcycle, was not wearing a helmet.

The motorcycle fatality remains under investigation. Alcohol is being explored as a potential contributing factor. Anyone with information can contact either Deputy Craig Ross at or Det./Sgt. Jason Parks at
