71, of Imlay City, died

Paul William Campbell was born September 6, 1947, in Detroit. He is the son of the late Alfred and the late Lorraine (Reimann) Campbell. Paul grew up in Plymouth. He is a graduate of Plymouth Central High School, Class of 1965. He married Carolyn Vander Ploeg Carroll on March 26, 1977 in Troy. Paul and Carolyn lived in Sterling Heights and St. Clair Shores before moving to the Imlay City area in 1984. Paul and Carolyn owned and operated their own truck for long haul team driving. They drove for North American Van Lines for 10 years between 1983 and 1993; and for FedEx for more than 20 years before retiring in 2018. Paul and Carolyn owned and operated an ice cream store in St. Clair Shores for 5 years. Earlier in his work career, after high school, he worked for Schrader’s Funeral Home in Plymouth and then for Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office for 10 years.

Paul is survived by his wife, Carolyn Campbell; four daughters, Lisa Lockaby of Toledo, OH, Aundria (Mark) Ketterer of Cottrellville, MI, Kimberly (Jim) Hardin of Osceola, MO, and Luanne (Steve) Quintana of Kimball, MI; sister, Jane (Dan) Hawthorne of Austin, TX; brother, John (Faith) Campbell of Anthem, AZ; 11 grandchildren, Hunter Ketterer, Jimmy Lockaby, Nichalas Lockaby, Cody Lockaby, Nick Carroll, Alex Hardin, Connor Hardin, Genevieve Hardin, Steven Quintana, Anthony Quintana and Adam Quintana; and one greatgrandchild, Miguel Quintana.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Lorraine Campbell.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions may direct them to the Imlay City Christian School.

A memorial service was held Monday, March 4, 2019 at Imlay City Christian Reformed Church, 395 Cedar Street, Imlay City. Reverend Alex Snider, pastor of Imlay City Christian Reformed Church, officiated.
