RICHARD KREINER


RICHARD KREINER, 82, of Lapeer, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Stonegate Health Campus of Lapeer.

Richard Adam Kreiner was born June 29, 1936, in North Branch. He is the son of the late Earl and the late Agnes (Murdick) Kreiner. Richard grew up in North Branch and attended Country School on Martus Road. He married Leota Dowling on June 25, 1955 in Brown City. Richard and Leota lived in Caro and Mio for 10 years each, but lived most of their lives in northern Lapeer County.

He was employed by General Motor Company – Buick City for 30 years. Richard loaded the vehicles on railroad train cars for shipping across the country.

Richard enjoyed woodworking and farming. He raised crops and cattle, and milked the cows.

He is survived by his wife, Leota Kreiner of Lapeer; three daughters, Patricia Kreiner of Vassar, Pamela (Don) Sawgle of Lapeer and Peggy (Kenneth) Walker of Columbia City, IN; his son, Rick Kreiner of Attica; son-in-law, Davis Kopkp of Oxford; six sisters, Norma Jean Donaldson, Shirley Mercier, Mary Brimmstool, Thelma McConnel, Geraldine Welch and Cecelia Baksa; two brothers, Leroy Kreiner and Arthur Kreiner; many grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Agnes Kreiner; his daughter, Patricia Kopko; daughter-in-law, Dolly Kreiner; three brothers, Jim Kreiner, Earl Kreiner and Leslie Kreiner; and his sister, Bernice Loxton.

A memorial service was held Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Imlay City Eagles, 170 S. Almont Avenue, Imlay City.
