Sentenced


The following sentences were administered by 40th Circuit Court Judge Nick O. Holowka

Justin J. Crawford, 29, of Brown City was sentenced Dec. 17 to 365 days in the Lapeer County Jail, with credit for 42 days served, after pleading guilty Nov. 9 to possession of less than 25 grams of a controlled substance. He was also found guilty by the court of habitual offender, second conviction. His license was suspended for 60 days and restricted for an additional 305. Crawford was ordered to repay $860 in attorney’s fees and pay $698 in fines and court costs.

Lawrence E. Greene, 21, a prisoner at the Thumb Correctional Facility in Lapeer, was sentenced Dec. 17 to 15 months to five years in prison, consecutively to an unspecified existing prison sentence, after pleading guilty Nov. 13 to possession of contraband. Greene was ordered to repay $275 in attorney’s fees and pay $698 in fines and court costs.

Robert L. Hampton, 29, of Lapeer was sentenced Dec. 17 to 90 days in the Lapeer County Jail after pleading guilty Nov. 9 to possession of a non-narcotic controlled substance. Hampton was ordered to repay $330 in attorney’s fees and pay $698 in fines and court costs.

Craig A. Caudill, 47, of Lapeer was sentenced Dec. 17 to 330 days in the Lapeer County Jail after pleading guilty Nov. 5 to resisting arrest and an addition 90 days, served concurrently, after pleading guilty to domestic violence with credit for time served on both. Caudill was ordered to repay $994 in attorney’s fees and pay $748 in fines and court costs.

In a separate case he was sentenced to two concurrent terms of five years to 22 years in prison after pleading guilty Nov. 5 to two counts of unarmed robbery. Caudill was ordered to repay $875 in attorney’s fees and pay $266 in fines and court costs.
