REV. JOHN "JACK" BREZNAU

REV. JOHN “JACK” BREZNAU went to be with our Lord on September 7, 2018 following a long battle with dementia at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility.

Jack was born in Detroit, the third of four sons to Joseph and Anna Breznau. First and foremost, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He married Nancy Ann Willmy on September 8, 1951 and worked as a copper, brass and steel sales engineer before establishing his own retail business with his wife Nancy, the Seagull Mall in Caseville and Nancy’s in Pigeon. Jack and Nancy’s love of the Lord came to fruition after much study, when they were ordained local priests by Bishop Ed Leidel on December 29, 2001.

His favorite pastimes were building model boats and sailing on Saginaw Bay and the Atlantic Ocean off the Florida Keys.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his sons, Charles “Chuck” and Diane “DeeDee” (Czarnecki) of Lapeer, James “Jim” and Nancy Irene (Burnham) of Oxford, and Pastor Dan and Denise Lynn (Adams) of Fircrest, WA; grandchildren, Sarah (Alan) Henderson, Pastor Michael (Stephanie) Breznau, Deputy Stephen (Emily) Breznau, Grace (Luke) Rogers, Dr. Daniel (Dr. Candace) Breznau, Nathan Breznau, Faith Breznau, Daniel Breznau and Maria Breznau; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Everlynn, Carson, Christian, Isabella, Audrey and Adeline. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, Healing of the Heart Ministries, P.O. Box 122, Lapeer, MI 48446 or Suncrest of Lapeer.

Visitation will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 735 W. Nepessing St., Lapeer, on Wednesday September 12, 2018 from 10 a.m. until Funeral Mass at 11a.m. Bishop Cate Waynick will officiate.

Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont. To sign the online guest book please visit www.MuirBrothers.com.
