Sentenced

The following sentences were administered by 40th Circuit Court Judge Nick O. Holowka

• Jody A. Choate, 44, of Imlay City was sentenced July 2 to between three years, six months and seven years, six months in prison after pleading guilty March 12 to possession of a firearm. The court also found him guilty of habitual offender, second conviction. Choate was ordered to repay $410 in attorney’s fees and pay $698 in fines and court costs.

• Vashon C. Nesbitt, 42, of Flint was sentenced

July 2 to two concurrent terms of 365 days in the Lapeer County Jail, with credit for 146 days served on each, after pleading guilty April 12 to two counts of possession of less than 25 grams of a controlled substance. His driver’s license was suspended for 60 days and restricted for an additional 305. Nesbit was ordered to repay $1,355 in attorney’s fees and pay $826 in fines and court costs.

• Jesse L. Knox, 49, of Brown City was sentenced July 2 to 300 days in the Lapeer County Jail, with credit for two days served after pleading guilty to operating under the influence of liquor, third offense. The court also found Knox guilty habitual offender, third conviction. His license was revoked. He was ordered to repay $375 in attorney’s fees and pay $1,498 in fines and court costs.
