LUELLA HAMPTON, 86, of Imlay City, died Sunday, June 10, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.

Luella Sadie Brooks was born September 19, 1931, in Almont. She is the daughter of the late William H. and the late Elva Mae (Ryckman) Brooks. Luella was a graduate of the Dryden High School, Class of 1949. She married LeRoy Hampton on May 17, 1952 in Lapeer. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy, on November 17, 2012.

Over the years, Luella worked for Hamill Manufacturing in Imlay City, L & L Products in Romeo and Hurd Lock in Almont. She always worked on the family farm in Imlay City with her husband LeRoy. Luella enjoyed caring for her lawn and her garden.

She is survived by two daughters, Peggy (Ralph) Geisenhaver of Imlay City and Linda Green of Shelby Twp.; and three sons, Donald (Donna) Hampton of DeFuniak Springs, FL, Jerry (Annette) Hampton of Sparta, and David (Deborah) Hampton of Imlay City; one sister, Vera Rutherford of Arizona. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Amy, Jaime, Deidre, Jennifer, Justin, Krystal, Philip, Kyle, Adam, Melissa, Elizabeth and Wesley; 26 great-grandchildren; and there is one greatgreat grandson on the way.

Luella was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Hampton; brothers, Frank Brooks, Ray Brooks, Fred Brooks; sisters, Mildred Crookedacre and Olabelle Penoyer.

The funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City. The family will be available for visiting hours from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, June 13 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City.
