Nurses reach tentative agreement with McLaren Lapeer Region

LAPEERNurses at McLaren Lapeer Region have reached a tentative agreement with hospital administrators. Nurses will hold a vote next week on whether to ratify the proposed contract, which includes staffing improvements and wage increases.

The hospital and its nurses settled on a four-year contract in October 2013 after 10 months of negotiations. This time the negotiations have gone on for 14 months, the contract expired May 2017 and the union was set to take a strike vote Thursday (June 14).

The ratification vote will take place June 19. The bargaining team, made up of nurses elected by their peers, is sharing information about the tentative agreement with all McLaren Lapeer nurses and, as is customary, details will not be shared with the public during this process.
