A DOT physical is completed by a
certified medical examiner and a DOT
medical card is good for 2 years. To
ensure that your DOT appointment
goes smoothly, be sure to take your
prescribed medications as usual; wear
loose fitting clothing for your physical
exam; and be prepared to give a
small urine sample that checks for
underlying health conditions. Some
employers may also request a urine
sample for drug and alcohol screening.
If you have vision or hearing problems,

as well as a complete list of any

Local Hospitals Offer Diabetes
Education Refresher Class This
refresher class is intended for diabetic
patients that have completed 10 hours
of DSMT education. Course topics
will include healthy eating for weight
loss, medication and insulin use,
evaluating blood glucose results and
much more. Classes are scheduled
for June 6 from 6 – 8:30 p.m., and
September 12 from 9:30 a.m. – 12
p.m. This event will be hosted at
the MRH East Campus in Marlette,
located at 2861 Main Street. A guest
is welcome to attend with participants
and refreshments will be provided.

associated with DSMT programs and

Detroit Bully Corps is a nonprofit
canine rescue and rehabilitation facility
located in Lapeer. We rescue bully
breeds, like the American Pit Bull
Terrier, Mastiff, Boxer and Bulldog. The
shoes will be given to underprivileged
people in impoverished nations so they
can start micro-enterprises where they
repair, clean and re-sell the shoes. For
