Imlay City Schools’ Weston Elementary students headed outside for a day of fun and exercise as part of the school’s participation in A.C.E.S. IMLAY CITY — Fitness was the name of the game for young Spartans as part of Imlay City Schools’ A.C.E.S. (or, All Children Exercising Simultaneously) Day on May 2.

Each year, Weston students participate in the health-positive, nationwide event that encourages physical activity and is geared towards promoting healthy habits. “This fun event was organized by Weston’s P.E. teachers; Julie Shanks, Jennifer Walton and Jennifer Stoldt,” said Director of Elementary Education and Student Support Services Dr. Dina Tallis. “Students exercised, danced, and ran. The weather was perfect for this event.”

All preschool, Begindergarten, kindergarten, first and second-grade students headed to the track at 9:30 a.m. for a morning of movement. Each class also enjoyed the company of two high school student volunteer helpers to help them get the blood pumping. For more information on A.C.E.S., visit www.projectaces.com.
