‘Dollar Day’ recycling on Saturday at ReStore

MAYFIELD TWP. — This Saturday (May 19) is the only time you can recycle a truck-load of unwanted materials for a dollar at the Habitat ReStore on North Lapeer Road in Mayfield Township. The regular price is $3.

The special offer is a celebration of the Lapeer County Drop-Off Recycling program’s sixth anniversary. It was meant for the first Saturday in May, but the date had to be canceled because a truck was not available.

Paper, cardboard, plastics, glass, metal and polystyrene products are accepted at the ReStore from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first and third Saturdays of each month, unless it falls on a holiday.

Old batteries will be accepted one day only this fall, in conjunction with the county’s hazardous waste material collection. The date has not been set.
