A brisk 35 mph wind made it hard to not get diamond dust kicked in their faces and players and umpires alike chased hats that blew off constantly. Friday, golfers saw their first competition of the season at the Lapeer Tune-up at the Metamora Golf and Country Club, beating out the winter storm that we are now all looking at out our windows this cold Sunday morning. — L.P.
