MICHAEL ALAN ABDELHAK, 48, of Lapeer died Wednesday, April 11, 2018.

Michael was born September 12, 1969, in Encino, CA, to Bruce Abdelhak and Joanne Daniello. He graduated from Dunedin High School (Dunedin, FL), class of 1987. Mike accepted his first job with Home Depot on September 8, 1991 and never looked back. He worked his way up through the ranks and was currently the Lapeer Home Depot store manager. He worked for Home Depot for 26 ½ years. Outside of work, Mike was a hockey enthusiast – whether he was playing, coaching or watching - hockey was his passion. Mike and the “Michigan Xtreme” played in a tournament this past weekend.

Mike is survived by his wife, Erika Abdelhak; children, Justin Abdelhak, Jordan Abdelhak, Jenna Abdelhak and Mariah Kage, all of Lapeer; mother, Joanne (Richard) Mirco of Strathroy, Ontario; sister, Kim Daniello of Burton; niece, Kylee Daniello; and his in-laws, Randy and Gayle Garcia of Lapeer.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Alan Abdelhak.

In lieu of flowers, please give generously in Michael’s memory to Lapeer County Hockey Association (LCHA), 3301 Davison Road, Lapeer, Michigan 48446.

A memorial gathering will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the American Legion Post #16, 1701 West Genesee Street, Lapeer. Mike’s memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Legion – dinner will be served immediately following at 5 p.m.

In keeping with Mike’s wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer.
