CONSTANCE “CONNIE” KONTYKO, 92, of Davison (formerly of Flint), died Sunday, April 8, 2018.

She was born

July 4, 1925 in San

Antonio, Texas.

Connie graduated from Flint Central High School. Immediately after graduation, she stepped up to be a “Rosie the Riveter” at General Motors (during World War II). After the war ended, Mrs. Kontyko went to work in the office of the UAW Local #651 in Flint. Mrs. Kontyko was a private person, who enjoyed time spent with close family and friends. Connie and her sister traveled extensively after retiring, they saw much of the United States. They especially enjoyed traveling throughout the State of Michigan, even visiting most of the lighthouses and waterfalls.

Mrs. Kontyko is survived by her son-in law, Raymond Hale of Northport, MI; step-children, William Kontyko, Gary Kontyko and Joan (Michael) Kerner; grandchildren, Raymond (Karen), Benjamin (Melissa) and Nicole; great-grandchildren, Ben, Charles and Eleanor; many, many other step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and sister, Marie “Bubbles” Shepherd.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband, William Kontyko; daughter, Gail Hale; and step-daughter, Carol Yungfer.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gail Hale Inland Seas Scholarship, 100 Dame St., Suttons Bay, Michigan 49682.

Connie’s funeral service was held Friday, April 13, 2018, at Muir Brothers in Lapeer. Pastor Drew Jolly officiated the service, with burial following in Davison Twp. Cemetery.
