Bar association accepting scholarship applications

LAPEER — There’s still time to apply for the Lapeer County Bar Association’s 13th annual scholarship program.

The association will be accepting applications through May 4 from high school seniors interested in a law-related for a $2,000 scholarship.

Applications and eligibility requirements are available at any Lapeer County high school counselor’s office, the Lapeer County Prosecutor’s Office, 255 Clay St. in Lapeer or by calling Judge Byron Konschuh at 810-245-4812.

Konschuh said selection criteria includes academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community involvement — including either volunteer works or work experience; and financial need.

Completed applications can be mailed to the Lapeer County Bar Association at 255 Clay St., Lapeer, MI 48446 or emailed to bkonschuh@lapeercounty.org by May 4.

The association’s scholarship committee will contact finalists for interviews May 17 and the scholarship will be awarded May 31.
