Dollar General plans Columbiaville store

COLUMBIAVILLE — Prolific retail chain Dollar General has its sights set on establishing a store in Columbiaville. The planned Columbiaville location would join the six already in operation in Lapeer County — in Almont, Deerfield Township, Dryden, Elba Township, Lapeer and Metamora Township. The Tennessee-based company is America’s largest small-box discount retailer by sales, operating 12,000 stores in 43 states.

According to Columbiaville Clerk Denise Dupack, Dollar General is eyeing the intersection of Marathon and LeValley roads, just south of downtown Columbiaville. A site plan review meeting is scheduled for March 6 at 11 a.m.
