78, of Lapeer, passed away February 5th,


Robert retired from Pontiac Motors after 30 years as a Tinsmith. He spent a lot of his free time making bird houses in the barn and working on other various wood working projects. Robert enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, riding his dune buggy, racing motorcycles in his younger days and hanging out at Ray C’s Extreme in Lapeer.

Robert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Diane; his son, Richard (Shelly) Brooks of Lapeer; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Mallory Brooks; special family members, Laura, Tori and Hannah; brothers, David (Charlene) Brooks and Paul (Barbie) Brooks; also several aunts, nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey “Bubba” Brooks on August 15, 2017; parents, Ray and Alice Brooks; brothers, Harold and Philip Brooks.

Memorials to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society are appreciated.

Funeral services were held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors-Capstick Chapel, Lapeer, on Friday, February 9. Burial will take place at Crestwood Cemetery on a later date.
