No intruders found after loud noise

ALMONT — A loud bang frightened a South Bristol Street woman home alone with her four children Sunday night. Almont Police Dept. officers aren’t sure what made the noise, but they’re pretty sure it wasn’t burglars.

Sgt. Dave Repshas said officers were sent to a home on the 300 block of South Bristol after a woman told dispatcher’s she’d heard a loud crash at her front door. The woman told officers a Dodge Durango had passed her house, headed south, but she could still hear the noise.

Repshas said when officers arrived they found no fresh footprints in the snow or evidence of someone trying to get in the home. Officers told the woman to call them if anyone came back.
