LAPEER — On Saturday, Jan. 13 at 7:30 p.m. the PIX Theatre will feature a pair of world-renowned country acts that will bring their familiar sounds to Lapeer audiences.

With six Detroit Music Awards to her name including Outstanding Country Song writer for 2016, Julianne Ankley has cemented herself in the Detroit and Michigan music scenes as a major talent. She has also been the celebrity host and performer for the Hard Rock Cafe stages in Nashville during the CMA Fest for several years and continues to perform at Nashville’s top songwriting venues such as the world-famous Bluebird Cafe.

Songwriter on Blake Shelton’s 2013 CMA and ACA winning Album of the Year (also nominated for a Grammy), Gary Hannan is a multi-platinum selling songwriter with hits like “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off” (Joe Nichols) and “Back When I Knew It All” (Montgomery Gentry).

“Combining these two unique and talented artists on the PIX stage is bound to be a great show,” said Center for the Arts Communications Director Katie Beth Chrismer. “Julianne has been writing heartfelt songs and delivering electric performances, both solo and with her band The Rogues, for years.” Her third solo Album “Don’t Let Go” was released in August 2015 at the Ark Theater in Ann Arbor. In 2016 Julianne started writing with Platinum hit songwriters Gary Hannan and Dave Gibson and touring in England and France, and nationally in the U.S.

Gary Hannan has been writing award-winning songs for more than a decade. Hannan has also been the recip- ient of a special award, “Songs I wish I Had Written,” which is voted on by the professional songwriting community.
