Twice North Branch overcame a two-touchdown deficit and even recovered an onside kick late in the game to give itself one last shot. Unfortunately for the Broncos, Caro’s defense put up one final stand to keep North Branch winless.

With the game ending in a 34-26 result, it is obvious that the North Branch offense is beginning to fire on all cylinders. Logan Rutledge has been solid in the backfield, and the aerial connection of Gerrid Rutledge to Hayden Mabery has become quite potent here in the first few weeks of the 2017 campaign.

Friday, the Broncos return home for another tough match-up against perennial powerhouse Millington. The Cardinals are currently 3-0 with a Week One win over Sylvania (OH) Southview, 29-26, and a pair of blowout victories over Caro and Birch Run.

Millington is never a slouch on the gridiron, and in order for the Broncos to have a shot this week, they’ll have to maintain the offensive momentum that has built up in the last few weeks. The defense will also have to pull off some key stops, as they did in the comeback attempt at Caro last Friday.
