Disturbed woman

MAYFIELD TWP. — A Westmoor Drive woman told deputies Aug. 6 that a man was walking around in a field behind her home. Then she told deputies he shot her in the face and head. She also told deputies the man shot her newborn baby and a puppy. A neighbor told deputies the woman had been hospitalized with mental issues the week before.

Man arrested on misdemeanor warrants

IMLAY CITY — Following a traffic stop on North Cedar Street Aug. 6, deputies arrested a 50-year-old man on misdemeanor warrants from Oakland County. Deputies turned the man over to Oakland County deputies on M-24 near Oakwood Road.

Drunken woman

LAPEER — Deputies assisted the Lapeer City Police Dept. with a very drunk woman at a Village West Drive apartment Aug. 6. Deputies noted the woman was losing a lot of blood from banging her head against the wall and tried to run naked from the apartment. Police took her to McLaren Lapeer Region.

Underage drinking

IMLAY TWP. — A teenager told deputies Aug. 6 that he and four friends were at a party on Bristol Road where 50 or so other teens were drinking. Deputies found no one in the area.

Mental evaluation

MAYFIELD TWP. — A 48-year-old Westmoor Drive woman told deputies Aug. 6 that she had been shot in the head with rubber bullets that go through walls. Deputies took the woman to McLaren Lapeer Region for evaluation.

Commercial alarm tripped

METAMORA TWP. — Deputies assisted Metamora Township Police Aug. 6 after an alarm company reported two sensors had been tripped at the Metamora Country Club. Police found the building secure.

Bar dust up reported

LAPEER — Deputies assisted the Lapeer Police Dept. Aug. 6 after reports of an assault at Fat Boy’s Bar and Grill on East Nepessing Street.

Assault reported

IMLAY CITY — A Shagbark Lane resident told deputies Aug. 6 that they’d been assaulted.

Alcohol arrest

MAYFIELD TWP. — Deputies arrested a motorist for drunken driving Aug. 6 following a traffic stop on North Lapeer Road.

Rollover crash

RICH TWP. — A passerby told deputies Aug. 6 that a Chevrolet Trailblazer rolled on North Lapeer Road. The driver refused medical attention at the scene.

Window shot out

ATTICA TWP. — A Hunters Creek Road man told deputies Aug. 6 that someone shot out the window of a vacant house he owns across the street from his own house. Deputies said the bullet, which stuck in an interior wall, appeared to be a stray.

Ditched car

ALMONT TWP. — Deputies assisted the Almont Police Dept. with a car crash on Hall Road. Witnesses said a Chevrolet Malibu went through an intersection and 40 feet into a ravine and then the driver walked away. The driver was described as a thin man in his 40s.

Shooting complaint

ATTICA TWP. — A passerby told deputies Aug. 6 that someone was shooting southwest of the rest area on I-69. They added, “People are driving like maniacs and so are the Canadians.”

Suicidal man

LAPEER — A woman and her daughter told deputies Aug. 6 that that her son was suicidal. The Lapeer Police Dept. later found him walking south on Baldwin Road and took him to McLaren Lapeer Region for evaluation.

Deer struck

ATTICA TWP. — The driver of a Dodge Charger told deputies Aug. 6 that they hit a deer on Slattery Road and the deer kept running.

Two-car crash

ELBA TWP. — The driver of a Chevrolet Impala told deputies Aug. 6 that they stopped on westbound Oregon Road at Elba Road and then pulled out, thinking it’s a four-way stop. It’s not. He hit a woman in a northbound Chevrolet Cruze.

Open gate secured

ATTICA TWP. — Deputies found the gate to the mulch yard at Owens Tree Service on South Lake George Road open. The owner came and locked it.

Masked man stirs concern at gas station

IMLAY CITY — A passerby told deputies Aug. 5 that a man wearing a mask pulled up in a Ford Focus to the Speedway gas station on the 1900 block of South Cedar Street and was acting weird. They said the man took the mask off before going into the store and put a different one on when he left. Deputies stopped an Attica man on Bowers Road near Lake Pleasant Road. The man told deputies he collects masks and likes to wear them.

Truck off the road?

LAPEER TWP. — A passerby told deputies Aug. 5 that a man in a pickup ran off Wilder Road into a ditch and hit something. Deputies found no one when they arrived.

Alcohol arrest made

ATTICA TWP. — Deputies arrested a 20-year-old man for drunken driving Aug. 5 following a traffic stop on Bowers Road near Pantek Park.

Suicidal man

OREGON TWP. — A woman told deputies Aug. 5 that her husband just found out she had an affair and she thought he was suicidal. The man told deputies he wasn’t suicidal, but just wanted to spend the night in a hotel away from her, but she had taken his cell phone.

Prisoner picked up

BURTON — Deputies met with the Grand Blanc Township Police Dept. at the Sunoco station on Belsay Road to pick up a 23-year-old man sought on a failure to appear for sentencing warrant for an earlier possession conviction. He was taken to the Lapeer County Jail.

Two vehicle crash

MAYFIELD TWP. – A passerby on North Lapeer Road told deputies Aug. 5 that a car rear ended a pickup.

Bottle tossed at vehicle

COLUMBIAVILLE —A Cass City man told deputies Aug. 5 that another motorist on Peters Road threw a beer bottle at his vehicle. He said no damage was done and he was going home. Deputies found no one in the area.

Open door found

HADLEY TWP. — Deputies found an open door Aug. 5 at Carpenter’s General Store on Baldwin Road. They closed the door.

Aggressive dog

MARATHON TWP. — A Burnside Road resident told deputies Aug. 5 that an aggressive dog was moving between their yard and the neighbor’s and the neighbor was threatening to shoot it. They told deputies they tied the dog up in their yard.

House checked

GOODLAND TWP. — A man called deputies from Texas Aug. 5 saying that he and his wife are separating and she was threatening to send her nephews from Saginaw to vandalize a house they own on Dudley Road. Deputies checked the house and it was okay.

Ditched ATV

DEERFIELD TWP. — A motorist told deputies Aug. 4 that a kid with no shirt and black shorts ran in front of them with an ATV at the intersection of North Lapeer and North Branch roads, just missed some signs and went into the ditch. Deputies said the ATV was gone when they arrived.

Low tree struck

OREGON TWP. — A passerby told deputies Aug. 4 that a tree was hanging at windshield height over North Elba Road. Moments later another caller reported a vehicle driven by an eight-month pregnant woman had hit the tree and was complaining of stomach pain. She was taken to McLaren Lapeer Region.

Deer hit

RICH TWP. — The driver of a Jeep Wrangler told deputies Aug. 4 that they hit a deer on North Lapeer Road.

Roundabout crash

ELBA TWP. — A motorist told deputies Aug. 4 that they hit the median in the roundabout on Lake Nepessing Road.

Phone harassment

LAPEER — A 46-yearold Jessie Lee Drive woman told deputies Aug. 4 that a 55-yearold man, who is already in the Genesee County Jail on felony stalking charges, is harassing her by phone. Deputies noted the woman is being sought by the Centerline Police Dept. on an unspecified warrant.

Basement noises

ELBA TWP. — An elderly woman told deputies Aug. 4 that she fled her house because she heard noises in the basement and thought someone had gotten in through the garage door. Deputies found the home secure.

Entrance blocked

DEEFIELD TWP. — A Peninsula Drive resident told deputies Aug. 4 that someone parked a Chevrolet pickup at the entrance to the Barnes Lake Club House, blocking the gate. Deputies found the truck was registered to a Columbiaville man and had him move it.

Home alarm tripped

ELBA TWP. — An alarm company told deputies Aug. 4 that a motion detector had been tripped in the basement of a Longview Drive Home. Deputies couldn’t get in the gate, but the alarm company canceled.

Falling debris

ATTICA TWP. — A motorist on westbound I-69 told deputies Aug. 4 that something fell from an overpass and damaged her windshield.

Odd car

ELBA TWP. — An Island Point Drive resident told deputies Aug. 4 that the neighbor’s house was foreclosed on and there was a car parked at the back of the house. Deputies reported the car appears to have been there for quite some time.

Late night noise

ATTICA TWP. — A North Summer’s Road resident told deputies Aug. 4 that loud machinery was operating at 11:23 p.m. and they’d like it quieted down. Deputies found a neighbor mowing their lawn and they agreed to quit for the night.

Suicidal girl

LAPEER TWP. — A man told deputies Aug. 3 that following a rough week that included breaking up with her boyfriend, social media issues and fighting with her parents, his step-daughter cut herself on the arm and took 50 Ibuprofen. The girl was taken to McLaren Lapeer Region for evaluation.

Text threats reported

IMLAY TWP. — An office worker at Champion Bus on Graham Road told deputies Aug. 3 that a 48-yearold former employee was sending texts telling them to “Watch your back.”

Loan fraud

ELBA TWP. — A 39-year-old Genesee Road man told deputies Aug. 3 that he applied online for a loan with a New York man. He said the man asked for a $210 fee and after he sent it, he never heard from the man.

Home alarm sounds

ELBA TWP. — An alarm company told deputies Aug. 3 that a sensor had been tripped at a Hunt Road home. Deputies met with the homeowner and all was well.

Missing grandparents

ATTICA TWP. — A Payne Road resident told deputies Aug. 3 that a 6-year-old child came to their house saying his grandparents were missing. Deputies found the youngster had spent the night with his grandparents had stepped out momentarily, but the boy’s aunt was in the house and he had slipped out.

Suicidal woman

LAPEER COUNTY — A caller told deputies Aug. 3 that a suicidal woman was on eastbound I-69 somewhere between Flint and Marysville in a Ford Fusion. Deputies found no one.

Man reported lost

DRYDEN TWP. — A man told deputies Aug. 3 that that he was in a Ford F-150 truck on Hodges Road and he’d lost his memory and couldn’t find his house.

Tree down

ATTICA TWP. — Deputies found a large tree blocking East Newark Road near Five Lakes Road. The Lapeer County Road Commission removed it.

Domestic incidents

DEERIELD TWP. — A Hillside Drive man told deputies Aug. 3 that his girlfriend attacked him. Deputies said both people admitted hitting the other. The woman went to her parents for the night. Deputies filed a report with the Lapeer County Prosecutor’s Office.

• A Lapeer Township woman told deputies Aug. 3 that her brother was on drugs at their mother’s Imlay City Road home and she was frightened. Deputies took the man to McLaren Lapeer Region for treatment.

Man arrested

THETFORD TWP. — The Thetford Township Police Dept. arrested a man Aug. 3 at his East Dodge Road home on Lapeer County felony warrants. He was turned over to the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Dept. on M-15 at Dodge Road and taken to the Lapeer County Jail.
