Mid-Michigan Therapy Dogs Training
classes at Goodrich United Methodist
Church 8071 State Rd., Goodrich
starting on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m.
Therapy dogs are family pets that are
trained to provide affection, comfort
to people in hospitals, nursing, and
assisted living facilities. Dogs can be
any breed or size. Must be at least
one year old and have basic obedience
and be well socialized. This is a 12
week cours. Six weeks classroom
instructions, where dogs will be
tested for the Canine Good Citizen
certification, following five weeks of
filed trips and graduation. Class size is
limited and pre-registration is required.

Project Brotherhood Resolve 23 Mile
Walk will start at the Lake Orion War
Memorial 312 S. Broadway St, Lake
Orion and end at the Lapeer VFW
Post 4139 128 Daley Rd, Lapeer
on Saturday, Sept. 9. Opening
ceremonies starts at 0600 hours
and walk 23 miles, 22 for them
and 1 for staying alive, with 22 plus
pounds of rucks. Ruck and weight
should be adjusted to the walkers
and runner’s ability. Recommend
having a change of socks and
shoes, begin training with what you
will be walking with and give your
body time to develop. Hydration is
essential. Represent your country,
unit or work with flags, attire is up
to the individual. If you are unable
to do the entire 22 miles, start at
a closer checkpoint or volunteer.
There will be spot vehicles to pickup walkers and runners at any given
time. Volunteers are needed to man

water tents and street crossings.
