MARJORIE “MARGE” VARGO, 76, of Attica, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at William Beaumont Hospital - Royal Oak Campus.

Marjorie Ann McNary was born September 23, 1940, in St. Clair Shores. She was the daughter of the late Donald and the late Melba “June” Catherine (Blumline) McNary. Marge grew up in the Imlay City area. She attended Clarks Corner School and is a 1958 graduate of Imlay City High School. Marge went on to get her Licensed Practical Nurse degree from St. Joseph Nursing School in Pontiac. She married Joseph Vargo on August 7, 1965 in Imlay City.

Marge had been employed by Oakdale Center in Lapeer as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the pediatric cognitively impaired unit. She had worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Pontiac for a short period of time. Marge adored her grandchildren. She enjoyed, sewing, knitting, gardening, and mowing the grass. Marge was a member of Right to Life and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She taught 5th grade catechism at Sacred Heart.

Marge is survived by her husband, Joseph Vargo; two daughters, Laura (Michael) Caldwell of North Branch and Catherine (Mark) Filer of Attica; one son, James (Nikki) Vargo of Grand Blanc; one sister, Donna McNary of Imlay City; five grandchildren, Ava Vargo, Jude Vargo, Claire Caldwell, Nicholas Caldwell, Emily Filer; and three nephews, Rev. Father Chris Ankley, Matt Ankley and Joe Ankley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and June McNary; and sister, Carol (Paul) Ankley.

Those wishing to make memorial donations may direct them to the American Red Cross.

The funeral will be held 11 a.m., Monday, June 19, 2017, at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 3834 N. Mill St., Dryden. Rev. Father Chris Ankley will officiate. Interment will follow at Arcadia Township Cemetery.

The family will be available for visitation 2-5 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, June 18 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, and Monday, June 19 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Cornelius Catholic Church.
