ARTHUR “ART” WRIGHT, 65, of Imlay City, died Sunday, April 16, 2017 at United Hospice Residence in Marlette.

Arthur Andrew Wright was born April 23, 1951, in St. Clair. He is the son of the late Harold Erwin and the late Nonda Ione (Tincknell) Wright. He grew up in Imlay City and is a 1969 graduate of Imlay City High School. He attended Vo-Tech in Attica.

He married Janice Marie Abshier on May 16, 1970 in Capac. They have lived most of their life in Brown City. For four years, they lived in Florida.

Art was employed at M.N.P. in Utica, MI, as a roller operator and maintenance for 20 years. While they lived in Florida, Ed owned a janitorial business and also worked for the City of Casselberry and was in charge of the water department and computer systems. Early in Art’s career, he worked Ford Proving Grounds for a period of time and I.S.P. Coating Company in Romeo for a while.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Marie (Abshier) Wright; two daughters, Suanne (Harold) Detzler of Brown City and Jennifer (Dennis) Conley of Brown City; one son, Craig (Theresa) Wright of Brown City; eight grandchildren, Amanda Wright, Robert Wilcox, Trevor Detzler, Mitchell Conley, Lacey Conley, Nicholas Wright, Justin Wright, Ashtin Morningstar; and two great-grandchildren, Cody Wilcox and Kenzie Wright.

The funeral will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City. Jason Burrick will officiate. Interment will be in Moore Cemetery, Snover. The family will be available for visitation 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Thursday, April 20 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
