Dog park in Lapeer in works

LAPEER — If there’s one thing this town isn’t short on, it’s dog lovers, so there was quite a buzz in August when it was announced during Lapeer Days that a dog park is in the works.

The park’s anticipated location is Rotary Park, at the east end of downtown Lapeer, but that’s pretty much all that has been decided. New parks director Rodney Church said they are planning to have a meeting for public input in early 2017, to learn more about what people want to see in a local dog park. After that, fundraising will take place, so it will be a while before the park is in place.

If you’d like to be added to a contact list, go to www.cityoflapeerdogpark.com. You can also call Church to give input at 810-664-4431.
