NORTH BRANCH TWP. — Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette has announced the appointment of Cheryl Howell of North Branch Township as his re-election campaign chairperson for Lapeer County.

Howell currently serves as the secretary for both the Lapeer County Republican Party and the 10th Congressional District Republican Party. She also served as one of two Republican National Convention delegates from the Thumb area in 2012. Howell is currently employed by North Branch Area Schools as the executive secretary to the superintendent.

Schuette was elected Michigan’s attorney general in 2010. Prior to that, he had served as a U.S. Congressman, State Senator, director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture and a Court of Appeals Judge. As attorney general, Schuette has led efforts to oppose Obamacare, protect the unborn and put an end to human trafficking in Michigan.

Schuette has also agreed to be the keynote speaker at the annual Lapeer County Republican Lincoln Day Dinner at the Lapeer Country Club on March 29. For details visit the Lapeer County Republican Party website at www.lapeergop.com
