All the swimmers turned in top efforts as Lapeer totaled 109 points in the three-day meet. Grand Blanc won the title with 530 points, and host Fenton was second with 356.5.

“The team had a great County Meet, with every swimmer getting their best time or just on their best time,” said Lapeer coach Becky Forfar.

Corriveau reached Saturday’s championship finals in four events, including two relays. He finished sixth in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.33 and seventh in the 100 free in 54.32, both personal bests. He also swam on the 200 medley relay team that finished eighth in 2:01.56, and the 400 free relay crew that placed seventh in 4:00.36. The top eight places earned medals.

Luckett, Mitchell Corriveau and Joe Daenzer also swam on those medal-winning relay teams. Luckett also turned in Lapeer’s highest finish with a fifth place in the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.88, and took 13th in the 200 individual medley in 2:27.59.

Mitchell Corriveau reached Saturday’s finals in the 500 free and placed 15th in 6:14.95. The 200 free relay team of Brandon Holtz, Zack Martindale, Jamie Dulin and Jimmy Jones was ninth in 1:51.60.

In Friday’s prelims, Nathan Taylor swam a personal-best 1:15.16 in the 100 butterfly and just missed the finals. Jack Lareau clocked 1:18.75 in the 100 breaststroke to miss the finals by one second. Also swimming personal bests were Christian Cerny with a 1:11.38 in the 100 free and Martindale with a 6:42.72 in the 500 free.

Lapeer will return to Metro League competition with a dual meet tomorrow at Swartz Creek.
