FRED LEO MOORHOUSE,

83, a lifelong resident of Columbiaville, died November 27, 2012 at McLaren - Lapeer. Fred was born July 5, 1929, in Columbiaville, the son of the late Leslie and Kathleen Moorhouse. He later married Sandra Sawyer on May 10, 1953 in Columbiaville.

Fred served his country honorably in U.S. Army and was a member of the 40-8 Voiture 1536, American Legion - Post 16 of Lapeer, Davison VFW Post 4087. He also served on the Columbiaville Fire Department. He enjoyed golf, hunting, camping and, most of all, spending time with family and friends.

Fred is survived by his children, Cathy (Pete) Schindler, Christy (Dave Barrett) Coon, Fred Moorhouse II, Carol (Mark) Winn, Steven Moorhouse, Callie (Greg) Spittler; siblings, Carol Crum, Marion (John) Nuckles, Clarence (Rosalie) Moorhouse. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sandra; brother, Bill; and sister, Jeanette.

Memorials in memory of Fred may be made to the 40- 8 Voiture 1536.

Funeral services were held Friday November 30, 2012 from Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville. Pastor Clarence Moorhouse officiated. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
