Suncrest Auxiliary to host ‘Tag Sale’
LAPEER — Members of the Suncrest Auxiliary will be standing outside a number of local businesses collecting donations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 7 for their annual Tag Day fundraiser.
The auxiliary has raised money on Tag Day for more than 60 years to advance and maintain the quality of life for the residents of the Lapeer County Medical Care Facility. Each year, the volunteers have a goal in mind, and this year that goal is to purchase additional therapeutic equipment and hand wheels, which are popular with the residents. This type of equipment helps keep residents limber as long as possible and offers fun interaction with therapy staff.
Other major purchases over the years were the serenity rooms, stained glass windows for the chapel and the gazebo for staff, visitors and residents to enjoy.
The auxiliary members volunteers also conduct social events for the residents, and they have purchased a piano, a candy cart, a popcorn machine, musical instruments and an ice cream maker in past years from Tag Day donations.
If you would like to donate to the auxiliary or become a member, you can call Carol Grumley at 810-664-4180 or Richard Scrimger at 810-664-8262. Visit www.lcmcf.org/auxdonate. html
