RAY WILLIAM CUYLER,

70, of Lapeer, died Thursday, August 9, 2012. Ray was born November 15, 1941, in Battle Creek, to parents Clarence and E. Mary (Offenbecker) Cuyler. He married Ellen M. Henker on August 1, 1964, in Athens, Michigan, at the North Athens Baptist Church.

Mr. Cuyler served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Hunters Creek Community Church for many years. Ray retired from Oakdale where he worked in the fire and safety department. He then worked for Advanced Security.

Mr. Cuyler is survived by his wife, Ellen Cuyler; children, Daniel Cuyler of Wilmington, NC, Kenneth Cuyler of Brown City, Stephen Cuyler of Lapeer; grandchildren, Kasey (fiancé, Samantha), Kaley, Victoria; siblings, Rev. Stanley (Helen) Cuyler of TX, Paul (Sandy) Cuyler of Union City, Lynn (Carol) Cuyler of MN, Joyce Goodyear of MA, Rose (Walt) Glover of MO, Gloria (Louis) Policknia of TX; as well as many nieces & nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by son, Curtis Cuyler; siblings, Martin Cuyler, Susan Wilson; and his parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to United Hospice of Marlette.

Visitation will be 4-8pm Monday, August 13, 2012 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer, with a funeral service 11:00am Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Hunters Creek Community Church, Rev. Stanley Cuyler officiating. Burial will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Battle Creek.
