DOUG MOTT, 49,

of Imlay City, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012, as a result of an ice fishing accident at Stanton Lake near Lum. Douglas Edward Mott was born September 7, 1962, in Lapeer. He was the son of Edward and Connie Mott.

He grew up in Imlay

City and graduated from

Imlay City High School in 1980. He remodeled homes for over 25 years for Realty Services. He also worked as a machine operator for Lyon Gear in Rochester. He was a member of the Imlay City Eagles Aerie 4082 and the Davison Eagles Aerie 3589.

He is survived by his daughter, Jamie (Josh) Wheaton of Almont; sons, Joseph (Jennifer Wiggins) Mott of Imlay City, Robbie Lucas-Mott of Madison Heights; grandchildren, Samantha Mott, Hector Guerra, Mikayla Wheaton, Jennavieve Mott; sister, Michelle Mott of Grand Rapids; best friend, Patricia Arnaud of Imlay City; and aunts and uncles, Doug (Ginger) Miller of Imlay City, Leonard (Sue) Mott of Almont, Elsie Campbell of Marlette, Betty Cummings of Walled Lake, Ann Ragatz of North Branch, Margie (Carl) Wangler of Goodrich, Barbara (Jerry) Nagy of Imlay City, and Kathy (Daniel) Stoin of Mt. Clemens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Mott and Connie Mott; a brother, Kevin Mott; and a sister, Terry Mott.

A funeral service was held Monday, February 20, 2012 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
