Putting the fun in fundraiser

The second annual Zumbathon fundraiser for the Be the Match Foundation was a huge success, according to organizer Janelle Jackson. Hundreds of Lapeer County residents participated in the group Zumba fitness exercise program while listening to hit music from the 1980s. The fundraiser was held on Saturday, marking a three-year anniversary for Sydney Gavan (right), who was diagnosed with two types of leukemia in 2009. She has been cancer free for two years now, thanks to a transplant received through Be the Match.

Most attendants at the Zumbathon fundraiser were dressed in 1980s clothing while Zumba instructors led them in a 90-minute workout. Most attendants at the Zumbathon fundraiser were dressed in 1980s clothing while Zumba instructors led them in a 90-minute workout.
