Alcohol arrest

LAPEER — The Lapeer Police Dept. took a 24-year-old man into custody Oct. 24 after citing him with operating while intoxicated following a traffic stop on South Main Street. Apparently his 29-yearold passenger was in no shape to drive either, since police had the vehicle towed.

Dead dog reported

BURLINGTON TWP. — Lapeer County Sheriff’s Dept. deputies told a Clifford Road homeowner Oct. 24 that their beagle was dead.

Missing pony

IMLAY TWP. — A Cade Road resident told the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Dept. Oct. 24 that their gray, spotted pony went missing over night. The animal, named Coco, has a white face and was last seen wearing a purple halter.

Close call for trooper

GENESEE COUNTY — An off-duty Michigan State Police Trooper took a driver into custody Oct. 24 after he was almost broadsided while driving on North Washburn Road. After discovering the driver was drunk and the van was stolen, the trooper brought the driver to the Lapeer County Jail.

Arrested for assault

GOODLAND TWP. — Lapeer County Sheriff’s Dept. deputies took a person into custody Oct. 24 on a simple assault warrant from the Michigan State Police in Lapeer following a domestic incident at a North Summers Road home.

Failed burglary

OREGON TWP. — A man told the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Dept. Oct. 24 that burglars tried, and failed, to kick in the door of his parents’ vacant Catlin Road home.

Alcohol arrest

METAMORA TWP. — Metamora Township Police took a 40-year-old woman into custody Oct. 24 after citing her with operating while intoxicated during a traffic stop on Baldwin Road. Police took her to the Lapeer County Jail.

Teen alleges assault

IMLAY CITY — A Norlin Drive woman told Imlay City Police Oct. 24 that her 16-year-old son was assaulted by another student at Imlay City High School.

Debit card stolen

LAPEER — A Bentley Street man told the Lapeer Police Dept. Oct. 24 that his debit card had been used three times since his home was burglarized Oct. 20. There is a suspect.

Warrant sought

DEERFIELD TWP. — Michigan State Police cited a 16-year-old boy with being incorrigible and are seeking a warrant for his father following an incident Oct. 24 at a White Road home. Police said the 49-yearold man threw a cup at the boy after the teen spit in their food. The teen’s mother, according to reports, took him to Lapeer Regional Medical Center’s emergency room for stitches.

Deer with TB?

ELBA TWP. — A Merwin Road man told Central Dispatch Oct. 24 that he shot a deer he believed was suffering from TB. He was given the Dept. of Natural Resource’s 24-hour hotline number.

Man arrested

ELBA TWP. — Lapeer County Sheriff’s Dept. deputies took a person into custody Oct. 24 after learning they were being sought on a probation warrant from the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Dept. during a traffic stop near the corner of Davison and Lake Nepessing roads.

Mail theft reported

LAPEER — A Michigan Street resident told the Lapeer Police Dept. Oct. 25 that thieves took their mail.

Troubled youth

BURNSIDE TWP. — A Stiles Road family told the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Dept. Oct. 25 that their 15-year-old was tearing up the house and threatening family members and himself. The family took the youth to an emergency room for evaluation.
