Road work update

Turrill Avenue remains closed for storm sewer work

LAPEER — The Lapeer Dept. of Works will have Turrill Avenue between Oak Street and M-24 closed to through traffic while a contractor completes a storm sewer installation and concrete replacement.
 DPW officials urge motorists to slow down in construction zones and keep an eye out for road workers. Conviction of injuring a road construction or maintenance worker can result in up to a year in jail and $2,500 in fines, while conviction of killing a road worker can lead to 15 years in prison and $7,500 in fines.
