New CFO for View Newspapers

Dale Phillips Dale Phillips LAPEER — Lapeerbased View Newspapers has named Dale Phillips of Attica as the company’s new chief financial officer.

Phillips comes to View Newspapers with 20 years of experience in newspaper finance. He began his career at the Grand Rapids Press and then was moved by Advance Newspapers, the former Booth Newspaper group, to controller at the Saginaw News. From there he was promoted to controller for the Ann Arbor News, Jackson Citizen Patriot and the Ann Arbor Business Review.

As the chief financial officer, his responsibilities will include overseeing the operations of the 14 publications that are now part of View Newspapers, which include The County Press, Lapeer Area View, Davison Index, Grand Blanc View, The Burton View, Brown City Banner, Jeffersonian, Sanilac County News, Huron County Press, Home Seekers, County Press Extra, The Thumb Blanket, The Buyers Guide and the Tri-County Citizen.

“We’re pleased to add another member to our management team like Dale, who brings extensive background and experience in the newspaper industry,” said Group Publisher Peter Neill.

“His skills will place us on a sound footing as we grow our View Newspapers publications.”

Phillips, 51, is a graduate of Lowell High School and attended Grand Rapids Community College and earned his degree in accounting and business administration from Aquinas College.

He and his wife, Mary, have two adult children. — M.A.



Unrestricted access to be available to web site subscribers

Subscribers to the County Press newspaper can now purchase the complete online and E-Edition of the paper for as little as $5 for three months. If you want a six month subscription to the online edition it is $10 and a full year can be purchased for $20.

Non-subscribers can sign up for the online version for $15 for three months, $30 for six months and $60 for an annual subscription.
