     Lapeer County is home to more than 1,300 active farms, most located on the eastern and northern section of the county, and are part of the diverse agricultural community in the Thumb and Michigan.

Here’s how E-911 works
      This letter is in response to Mr. Steve Currier’s comments in Sound Off last week. The Lapeer County Central Dispatch Authority Board has been working on developing this project for the last three years. In that time, a lot of work and research was done that brought us to where we are today, and the decision to join the MPSCS as our primary communications system.

SOUND OFF
      Cover nose Maybe I was just raised better, but I’m always amazed and angered by the number of people who don’t cover their nose when they sneeze in public. Especially now, with a bad flu epidemic going on, possibly even the swine flu, it’s more important than ever that people do better to prevent the spread of viruses.
