DRYDEN — Law enforcement raided a Dryden medical marijuana dispensary on Wednesday for the second time in little more than a week. Marijuana, cash, scales, medical edibles and records, including possible patient records, were seized. No arrests were made, and no charges have as yet been filed in the ongoing investigation.

LAPEER — The long wait is over. It’s been nine months since construction crews for Walgreens bulldozed the one-time Taco Bell restaurant, the Colonial Car Wash, the Fast Stop gas station and nearly six years since the Deerfield, Ill-based national pharmacy chain began scouting for locations to open a new store on Main Street (M-24).

LAPEER — By late winter or early spring at the latest, the cloth signs that now read Lapeer Hotel should be replaced by Holiday Inn Express.

Glenn Stanton, vice president of hotel operations for Mt. Pleasant-based LaBelle Management, confirmed Friday that his company sold the 72-room hotel to Novi businessman Robert Nofar in June.
