     So here’s a thought? When can you legally shoot and possibly kill someone in Michigan? The answer is simple to many — when your life or property is threatened, while for others the reply may be “never.” Well, stay tuned because the debate over so-called “Stand Your Ground” self-defense laws has been rekindled in Michigan.

About time or too much on pension plan?
     The Michigan Senate has passed legislation that would end pensions for newly hired public school employees and switch them into a 401(k)-style retirement plan. The Republican-led Senate on Thursday passed the measure that includes many changes to the state's public school employees’ retirement system. The bill now goes to the House.

     Considering the train That was a neat article about the train trip to Chicago. We’ve lived here most of our lives and have never considered taking the train anywhere. It seemed like such a slow and low-tech way to travel, but the article helped me realize it may be worth a try. I’ll bring my own lunch.
