Imlay City Schools continues to offer innovative and challenging programs, academic supports and a variety of individualized pathways for students to become career and college-ready. IMLAY CITY — Educators, community members, parents and students measure success in several different ways. Many believe awards and accolades are the measure of success. If true, then Imlay City Schools has had an outstanding – and long-standing – stretch of success; its high school has been recognized as one of “America’s Best High Schools” by US News and World Report, multiple schools in the district have received state-level Education Excellence Awards for their academic and school safety programs, its Art, Music, and Robotics programs are frequent award winners and teachers and students in the district have earned an impressive list of individual and team awards and recognition in academics, athletics and the extra-curricular programs.

Yet, when one speaks to those individuals in Imlay City Schools, the award and accolades are not mentioned as the most important measure of the district’s success. In speaking with district employees-everyone from teachers, to bus drivers, to administrators-a theme quickly emerges; relationships. Imlay City Schools believe that success is measured in the strength and depth of the positive relationships that are built with students, parents, and the community, as a whole. Relationships are what any quality school is all about. Without them, no level of success can be adequately reached. As a result, Imlay City Schools’ district employees work every day to build and sustain positive relationships that connect parents, students, staff, and community. By formatting these relationships, then take the time to get to know their students, individually, and value them for their strengths and abilities while supporting and challenging them. Imlay City Schools strives to help their students maximize their talents and exceed even their own expectations.

Armed with this understanding, Imlay City Schools continues to offer innovative and challenging programs, academic supports and a variety of individualized pathways for students to become career and college-ready. These innovative programs start early, and continue through graduation and beyond. In addition to many high-quality programs, in just the last few years Imlay City Schools has expanded its Early Learning Center, added Begindergarten, expanded its virtual learning options and Advanced Placement offerings, has earned accreditation as a STEM center and has initiated an Early College program through which students can earn a high school diploma and a college degree simultaneously, and for free.

The district’s intense focus on relationships and the needs of individuals, paired with world-class educational programs, makes Imlay City Schools a place where all of its students can truly see success.
